Well, Christmas was great but its back to Boot Key Harbor for more beautiful weather, meeting new friends and seeing old ones again!

Bob and Deidre on Tide Hiker were our neighbors for a while.
We have known them for a while and it was good to spend time with them again.

We met Sea Wolfe with Lore and Bill. They have a beautiful
catamaran that they designed. We had fun with them until they headed off to the
Bahamas. Enjoy!

We met Katrina, Hite, and Troy on Sea Monkey. We helped
Katrina and Troy move to a different mooring ball when Hite was off the boat
and got acquainted. Katrina went on a Walmart shopping spree in Florida City
with us. They headed to the Bahamas too. Everybody’s going to the Bahamas!
We had non boat visitors too. Buck and Imogene Bowman from
back home were traveling in Florida and decided to come down and see our boat.
We invited them aboard for lunch and they ended up spending the night. We had
fun visiting with them and even took them for a short harbor cruise before they
left.

Before Christmas the mooring field would fill up then people
would leave and it wasn’t a problem getting a mooring. That changed after Christmas.
When our friends on Five Flip Flops (FFF) got here in
mid-January, they were 28 on the list waiting for a mooring ball. So they
anchored near us and we had a great time catching up with them.

Ex-boaters Ted and Nancy McCarley came for a visit. They
sold their Defever, Aloha Friday, and bought an RV. We loved touring their RV
and hope they have lots of fun on the roads! A lot of boaters move to RVs.
Right now we don’t think we will do that, but who knows?
New friends, Jim and Pam on Silent Faith had dinner for us
and FFF. We enjoyed the meal and the
company. Jim likes to celebrate sunset every night with the traditional conch
horn blow.

Just to show you that it’s not all fun on a boat. These
pictures show David (FFF) up his mast working on his VHF antenna. You really need the antenna to be able to communicate with other boaters and the Coast Guard. We are glad
we don’t have a “tall stick” to climb on our boat.
