Vero to Daytona

We had a good trip to Vero. We left Stuart at 7:25. We left later than planned because the anchor was a mess. It took about 25 minutes to get all the muddy gunk off. It was a cloudy day and looked like rain but we stayed dry. We got to Vero at 1:45 and picked up a mooring ball. I HATE the mooring lines at Vero. They are always slimy, muddy disgusting messes! Did I mention I hate them? Anyway, we got tied up and got checked in at the marina. We traveled about 6.5 hours and traveled 39nm at 6.2 kts.

This shows the mooring ball arrangement around us. We were on 40 and Rocking B on 41.
A screenshot showing the area around us.

We went out to eat with Rocking B and Richard and Connie from Sea Salt. They have a condo here but are living on their boat now. We had great pizza and enjoyed catching up with our friends. They were supposed to be leaving heading north, but are having problems so they will leave a little later. The next day the guys went to West Marine for a big sale and the girls went shopping for provisions. We were running out of SodaStream flavors and had to go to several places to get a few of our flavor.

The next day Shay and I went to shore and caught the 8:10 bus and didn't get back until almost 5 pm. We went to the mall and walked from one end to the other and then back up the road to Sam's and WalMart. We were exhausted and our feet were tired. Too much for one day! Thank goodness Rocking B invited us over for dinner. Thanks guys! We spent 3 nights in Vero then decided to head to our next stop. We left the marina at 6:30

We kept seeing the bugs flying around the boat. It's not a two headed bug, its a "fooling around" bug.

This is a pretty bridge
Heading our after our stay in Vero

Beautiful sunrise at we travel up the ICW.

See you in the fall.

Working on the ICW
We have seen this at Morehead City. It docks near our marina.

We are anchored in Cocoa

There's B, close by!

As you can see, it's a busy area. I should have shown the hardware store.

We got anchored about 2:30. We traveled 47 nm in about 8 hours at 6.0kts.
Beautiful sunset

We enjoyed our time in Cocoa. We didn't get to go to the east coast largest hardware store, SW Travis. It is closed on Saturday! We were surprised! A hardware store that is only open Monday-Friday?

We had several people recommend the Thai restaurant so we ate lunch there one day. We enjoyed walking around the town, remembering other visits.
Rocking B sailing along. They love it, especially Ken.
Dark clouds followed up the coast.

B going thru Haulover Canal Bridge
The guy was pulling in this fish as we drove by, so I told him to hold it up so I could get a picture. He did!

Fun along the water. Boats, tents, kayaks.
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

I call this "Stinky Bird Island". Can you guess why? Smelly!
Pretty building in Daytona
Pretty bridge!
Sad looking! What happened?
This is here very year.

Anchorage

Another busy place.

We left Cocoa at 6:40 heading to Rockhouse Creek. You know how much I love Rockhouse, well not happening this trip. We had a good trip and decided to go past our usual anchorage and head to Daytona. Again, we do a long day so the next day will be shorter.

We had not anchored here before and passed by several anchorages trying to get a little farther north. We tired to anchor in one spot and decided it was too shallow so we went a few miles farther and bumped when we tried to anchor here so we went and anchored in the first place we tried. We just stayed a little closer to the channel. This made a really long day, we anchored at 5:30. We traveled 68 nm in almost 11 hours going 6.3kts. Probably won't stop here again, but it's good to know what it has to offer.
