Southport and Wrightsville Beach

We had an absolutely beautiful sunrise this morning.

We saw this boat on the dock at Myrtle Beach. It's name is My Boat. We kept saying it's not my boat. We are perfectly happy with our boat!
This is a pretty little summer home place. Not a red neck camper in sight!

Pretty houses along the way.

Unusual, not especially pretty.
What can I say?
Sunrise at Lightkeeper's Marina
Stepford houses. They all look alike. Same color, shape, size.

Got money? They can help you get rid of it!

Shallotte Inlet.
When the shrimp boat is docked at the restaurant, does that mean the shrimp are really, really fresh?
We tried to dock here once, before the face dock was installed. Swift current and bad docks make for a bad time.
Wesley's Pride doesn't look very proud.

I was downstairs and Shay called me up for this boat. We have talked about how sad it looks. It has been at this dock every time we have passed by. Getting lower in the water and sadder looking each time. Shay said if they leave it there much longer, they can just take it away when they tear down the building.
Yeah, we are back in NC!
Shrimp boats at dock. Why aren't they out getting me some shrimp?

We left Barefoot Marina at 5:55. Yes, that's very early. We traveled 6 hours at 6.3kts and traveled about 38nm. We got to Southport at 12:00. Ken wants to look at a boat at 3:00 and we made it with plenty of time. I did some laundry. Hey, it was free and the washers were bigger than mine, so I did bedspreads. Sea Salt is docked with us and Rocking B is at the next marina. They are in the marina with the boat they are going to see.

The boat tour was disappointing. The boat needed some, well lots of TLC. So the search continues.

We went to Sea Salt to meet some of their friends that live near by. They are selling their house and planning on doing some boating. Yeah for them.

Here we are in Indigo Plantation Marina in Southport, NC

We left Southport at 7:00. We have tides and current to contend with again today. Hope we timed it right.
We gave this barge lots of room. We even went on the wrong side of the red marker, since we knew the water was deep. He didn't even say thanks. Shay said they expect us to get out of their way or suffer the consequences!

Snow's Cut is another tricky place. Be careful.

I know we are getting close to Wrightsville, when I see this house.

This is Shinn Creek, which joins Masonboro Inlet. It can be tricky entering from the ICW.

Yes, there is B...
...and here is Guinevere, with Jonathan and Maggie. They were anchored near us at Marathon...
...and there's Sea Salt. All present and accounted for in Wrightsville Beach.

...And here we are!

Shay doing his Titanic pose coming into the anchorage!

We got to Wrightsville at 11:00. We traveled almost 4 hours at 6.0kts and traveled about 24nm. We are all having dinner at Tower 7 tonight with Lauren. She will be leaving Thursday to go back home to be in a friend's wedding. So, we have no reason to stay here any longer. Travis and Sarah are coming down for Memorial Day weekend, so we need to be back in Morehead City Saturday. We have one more anchorage until we get back. We plan to stop at Mile Hammock then on to MCYB.
