Morehead City June 2015

We have had a good time in Morehead and back in Mount Airy. We have lots of friends on the dock and more coming and going constantly. Salty Turtle is two slips from us and we see each other daily. They will be here for several months. We'll enjoy spending time with them and others while getting Escape ready for another season.
Beautiful!
We rode back to Mount Airy with Travis and Sarah. It was great to be back in our hometown. It's been too long since we've been here!

Of course we had to go to Chile Rojo! I am not responsible for the hat and pie in the face in the following picture! I'm not that crazy! But it was fun! Happy Birthday! And this was a BIG one! I won't tell!

We stayed in Mt. Airy for a few days then I went to spend time with daddy. It's been a long time since I saw him! Christmas!
Happy Birthday at Chile Rojo!

A man and his dog. Doing what they do best!

A rainy day at the lake.

During this time, Lauren finished her first year of teaching. It was a year of challenges and accomplishments! We are so proud of her!

Shay checked out the big fish that were caught during Big Rock.

Lauren had been telling us when school got out, she was getting a dog. So after several "dog play dates", she started fostering "Roux". She is working very hard to train a 4 month puppy in a third floor apartment. The dog was trained to go outside, but the trip takes longer in the apartment building! Things are working out, even though she still has accidents.
Roux's first bath

My sister, Michelle came down for a visit. We had a great time! We took several long walks along the beaches and waterfront. So glad she came down! Don't wait so long to visit next time!

We went down to visit Lauren and Roux and take her some "stuff" I had gotten her. We really enjoyed meeting our grand-dog. Yes, its official! She is Lauren's dog. Lauren said she understood how new mothers felt now. Sometime Roux takes up all her time! Welcome to the world of a puppy owner!

It's July 4th weekend. We will be staying at the dock and away from all the other boaters! Too many people and boats on the water for us!

Hope everyone has a great time celebrating! Spend time with family and friends. Enjoy eating too much! But remember it's not just about cookouts, parades and fireworks! It's about our freedom! It's about what happened over two hundred years ago, but also about what's happening now!
