Greetings from Green Turtle Cay

We are having a great time on the island. How could we not? It's beautiful. Great beaches, water, weather, and people!

Full moon rising
Besides us, FFF, Rocking B and Lady Ella we have several boats from last year and some new ones. Gerald and Maurice are here again and it's good to see them. Mojo and Betty are here on Bad Betty. Mojo is the dock dog and has a great time going on beach walks. We have met Ian and Liz on Due South and Dale and Mercedes. Char and Jim live in the house along our short-cut to town and we met them this year.

The freshly replaced name and flip flops!
We've had lots of traveling boaters visit us. Green Turtle is a good place to stop and wait for bad weather to pass. Kathy and Earl from Seeker stopped by on their way south. They are our NC buddies that we saw in Vero. Roger and Lore from Reality were here for a little while. Lore and Bill from Sea Wolfe were here too. Keith and Joann on Walker's Run are at White Sound. We've seen them a few times when we walk to Green Turtle Club. Joann is Richard's sister.

We had a great time visiting No Name Cay, better known as Pig Island. It's just a short dinghy ride to see them and as usual, they were curious.

These pigs don't like cabbage!
Margaret and Ken reading the rules for Piggyville.
The pigs now have a water tank and can get water whenever they want it. There is no fresh water on the island.
Thank you "Pig Whisperer"

Emma and Ken got up close and personal with this one. He liked it!

 Put it back, it's alive!
We've had several beautiful walks along Gillium Bay this year. We've collected a few more shells to add to our collection.
He's still here!
We walked the long way thru the woods...
...and came out here!

FFF enjoyed the walks!

The water is so clear!
Meryl and Jim on Kokomo are also in White Sound. Shay and Jim emailed and phoned each other before we left the US. Jim had boat questions and Shay was glad to help. They invited us to their boat for burgers on the grill on day and we had a great meal. They have met us in town and gone out to eat with us several times.

Richard and Connie have finally gotten here and are a great addition to the dock. The night they arrived we all had dinner on Escape. We had white beans and ham. We all know how tiring a long day on the water can be so we had dinner ready for them.

Connie had planned ahead and brought cabbage and corned beef for a St. Patrick's Day feast. The rest of us contributed other goodies and when it was over we had 3 crockpots full of cabbage, corned beef, carrots and potatoes! And Connie made apple crisp for dessert and Walker's Run brought brownies. There were 12 of us and we were all stuffed! We had enjoyed the island St. Patrick's Day parade the day before and felt we had celebrated to the fullest.

We had a St Patrick's Day feast!
Max and Mary Earl that are from NC and have a house here on the island are back and we've spent time with them. They had us all over for a rib night and it was great. We all took something and had a feast. Ribs, slaw, baked beans, mac n cheese, potato salad and dessert. We were stuffed.

We've had a good time just getting together with "our group". Margaret and Ken on Rocking B have had several music nights and we have enjoyed hearing Ken and others play. I have made muffins for all of us and Donny. And of course, I made my famous fresh coconut pie.Emma has made a banana cream pie, coconut candy, and a cake for us all. Margaret had us all over for steaks one night. One of our first nights here, we had surf and turf. Someone gave us some lobster tails and Rocking B had steaks so we had a feast! We're always getting together on someone's boat for coffee or just to talk.

Ken and Shay have the right idea. Sit near the food!
We've eaten out a lot this year. Shay and I weren't too impressed with several of the restaurants last year, but they've been better this year. Of course as FFF says, " sometimes it's 5 FFF and sometimes only 1." That's their rating system instead of 5 stars, it's 5 FFF. At Two Shorty's we've had good and not so good ribs, but the salad with grilled chicken is always good. We give Laura's Asian Café 5 FFF for their spicy mango chicken wrap! The Wrecking Tree has a great deal on a good BLT. Harvey's was our favorite last year even thought its expensive. Shay had some great blackened pork chops there. His mango curry mahi mahi was good, but he thought the portion was small. We had pizza at The Plymouth Rock Liquor Store, it was good but small. Their cracked chicken was also good. We need to stop eating out, our freezer is still full. So as you can see, we have not been lacking for food.
Friday rib special. Ribs, mac n cheese, and beans and rice! $5.00!
David and Emma are happy!
And my lunch. The $6.00 grilled chicken salad!
Yummy!
We've enjoyed 2 Shorty's a lot more this year.
That's enough for now, there will be more later.
