We got to our anchorage at 1:50. We traveled almost 40nm at 6.4kts for 6.25hrs.
These boat beat us to the anchorage today. They took off and left us behind. But we found them!
Bridge near Brunswick, GA
Beautiful sunset
You can see, we are near a small airport.
Even thought it looks like there is nothing around in this picture.
Our trip today
We had been watching the weather because Southern Star can not go into FL until December 1st. Now, if there is nothing brewing out in the ocean they could leave a few days early, but we're not that lucky. The past few days, a storm has been brewing and today it was predicted to have a >80% chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 5 days. So what that means is that Southern Star can't travel into FL with us.
They decided the stay here at this anchorage a few more days and see what happens, then if they need to they can go into a marina or go on the hard depending on how severe the storm is.
We are sad to see them go so we got together on Escape to tell them goodbye, give them some routes they can use once we leave them and have some cheesecake supplied by SeaSalt. Escape met Southern Star 2 weeks ago and we have been traveling with them ever since. They are a great couple and we have enjoyed our time together. Sorry to leave you! Keep in touch. We may take you up on the invite to visit you in Australia.
We will miss these smiling faces!
We hope the weathermen are wrong and this doesn't turn into a storm or if it does; it "goes harmless out to sea".
