Traveling Up the Florida Coast Part 2

We left Cocoa at 6:30 heading for Daytona. We had a good trip with no problems. We were a little concerned when we saw a train sitting on the track at a railway bridge. It is usually open unless a train is coming. It is an automatic bridge, a whistle sounds then in a few minutes the bridge goes down and the train passes by. After the train goes by the bridge comes back down until the next time. Well, when we got close by we could see the bridge was down but a train was sitting on the track. What do we do? Well, we proceeded slowly and passed thru. After we got by, the whistle sounded and the bridge went down, the train passed by, and then the bridge went back up. Sea Salt was behind us and had to wait for the train but it was no big deal.
You can see the big NASA building from ICW.

This railway bridge is usually up when we get here. But, there's not usually a train on the track.

Just waiting for us to go thru the bridge.

The guys are ready for us to get thru. Don't think Sea Salt will make it thru.

It's almost down.
And the train goes thru.
A large gaggle of kayakers. They are very common in this area.

We are bird watching.
Sea Salt passing thru the Haulover Canal Allenhurst Bridge.
This boat looks like it was anchored by a spider. There are a web of ropes holding it in place. Hope they work.

Sad
We thought this was a little too close for comfort.
Cute building along the way.
Skinny water leading into an anchorage. Can't go in there at low tide.
Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse
We passed by Rockhouse Creek again. Still beautiful.

Pretty marina
Yes, Stinky Bird Island is still there. And yes, it still stinks.
We are anchored in Daytona.
Pretty sunset.
We got to Daytona about 4:30 after traveling 10 hours and moving 59nm at 5.9kts. We had a good passage. We saw manatee, dolphins and pink flamingo. The flamingo were flying by as we were getting to Haulover Canal. We stayed at a new anchorage for us, just a little south of where we stayed last fall. Sea Salt was nearby.
